The exhibition draws from objects in the Department of American Decorative Arts at the Yale University Art Gallery and photographs of student rooms from Sterling Memorial Library’s Department of Manuscripts and Archives. Many of these decorative arts objects were given as gifts to furnish three restored student rooms on Yale University’s Old Campus in the summer of 1977 under the supervision of Stewart G. Rosenblum, J.D. 1974, M.A. 1974, M.PHIL. 1976, and were included in the 1978 exhibition Home Away from Home: Student Rooms at Yale, curated by Diana G. Strazdes, PH.D. 1982.
There’s No Place Like Home: Student Rooms at Yale, 1870–1910 was produced by the Department of Public Information at the Yale University Art Gallery, under the direction of Ana Davis, Associate Director of Public Information. Project management was undertaken by Adrienne Webb, Public Information Coordinator.
